Description:
This session will address how fit specialists should “marry the bike to the body” with products that solve our customers’ problems. We will address some of the usual component choices that should be considered for a fit, and how you should select the proper component for a given body and a given problem. For example, should we go with shorter crank arms, 36cm or 40cm handlebars, should we shim the brakes, etc?

Description:
Understanding how anatomy and biomechanics relate to our customers is critical in helping them get the solution they are seeking. This session will help you understand the key landmarks a fit technician and a cycling analyst should know for proper land mark selection, what muscles and joints are important during the musculoskeletal evaluation, understanding some common pain complaints by cyclists including the tissues that are oven involved, reviewing some of the most common postural insufficiencies cyclists have and how to identify them, and more.

Description:
Evidence-Based bike fit allows fit specialists to assess all information resources (research, clinical guidelines, etc) and make recommendations to our customers based on those results. How do you make smart decisions that are evidence-based? What resources and current literature are available on fitting and are its applications? How do you accomplish your clients’ goals faster through intelligent fit vs. just color in the numbers? Take your practice to the next level by understanding the ins & outs of Evidence-Based bike fit.

Description:
An esteemed group of experts from various disciplines including former professional cyclist Frankie Andreu, Wade Hall, Brian Adams, Gregg Robidoux and Pariac McGlynn will be on-stage ready to answer questions from the audience. Come prepared with 1-2 questions that will offer some perspective to help you and your fit practice when you get back home from Interbike.

3:00 pm – 3:50 pm Sizing and Quick Fitting – Selecting the Right Bike for You

Description:
This session will review the importance of pre-purchase bike sizing – including the options and implications of different approaches to sizing (equipment & skills), what information we want from the client to select a bike size and how we use that information to establish an initial bike fit. You will learn the questions that should be asked to your clients to determine what geometry is best for them – and once they are on the bike, how you can quickly get them in a ‘close-enough position.’
3:00 pm – 3:50 pm Normative Bike Fit Values Competitive Vs Non Comp Cyclist

Description:
How do professional teams and average cyclists differ when it comes to fit? What really matters? This session will cover the average and efficient angles during a fit (including biomechanics), dangerous & innocuous diferences, scientific-based data, experience-based data and more.

4:00 pm – 4:50 pm When the Foot Smashes the Pedal

Greg Robidoux, Founder, The Cycling PT
Description:
Foot-Pedal interface continues to be a hot topic in our field, and one that requires fit specialists to be on top of their game in this aspect of fit. This session will:
1. Review the decision process that helps you select the proper shoe and pedal for your customer.
2. Help you determine whether you should use a wedge, shim, both or none.
3. Help you understand why your customer has numb or painful feet – and what you should do about it.
4. Answer the question: Are all shoe inserts created equal? – and review basic inserts vs. orthoses.

4:50 pm – 5:30 pm Best Fit Practices: Share Your Favorite Accommodation

Audience Participation (chosen by Revolutions in Fitness / Curtis Cramblett)
Description:
This is the ultimate opportunity for fit specialists like yourself to learn from your peers, hear what other shops across the country are doing – and take away key strategies that you can apply in your business when you get back to your shop after leaving Interbike.
■ This session will consist of 6-8 fit specialists who will present their favorite accommodation that they use on a regular basis. Each person will have no more than 3 minutes on-stage to present their idea. Immediately following the final presentation, the audience will vote for their favorite idea, which will be tallied and announced shortly thereafter. The winner will receive a Free 2-night hotel stay at Interbike 2018 (room & tax only), a Pure Cycles “PeopleForBikes Edition” Single Speed Bike and 2 VIP passes for Cross Vegas.
