Strong Schedule of Educational Seminars Locked For 2012 Show

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. – August 28, 2012 – Organizers of the Interbike International Bicycle Expo (Interbike) announced several new educational seminars that will take place during the show. The content offered at this year’s show covers a wide array of topics designed to educate retailers on relevant topics for bicycle retailers.

“The NBDA and our internal team have organized a fantastic group of speakers at the show this year,” said Pat Hus, Managing Director for Interbike. “You can’t overlook the value of education when attending our show – or any show for that matter. Retailers are hungry for information on the latest trends in business development & growth, and I feel like we’ve got one of the strongest schedules to date.”

New for the 2012 show is a panel discussion between executives from three of the top retail design firms in the country – Gensler, JGA and Little. Titled, “Why Retail Design Matters,” this discussion will cover store design, layout and merchandising, and how they relate to making the customers’ experience a memorable one. The panel will be moderated by Allison Embrey Medina, Editor of DDI (Display and Design Ideas) Magazine.

The NBDA-sponsored seminars feature powerful topics including a cycling industry analysis of product and consumer trends affecting IBD’s, selling without discounting, and growing sales through creative service writing. One can’t-miss panel discussion is the titled, Secrets From The NBDA Profitability Project (P2) Revealed, moderated by Dan Mann of The Mann Group. The P2 project brings non-competing dealers together to share financial performance numbers and best practice ideas.

Retailers interested in learning more about emerging trends in triathlon, bike fit systems and tricks to selling wetsuits will be able to hear from experts in the Triathlon Pavilion – and the BMX Zone is featuring several seminars designed to help retailers understand the BMX category, and how to start or increase BMX sales.
